Red light therapy in Newport Beach
Ten to twenty minutes in the full-body LED bed. Red and near-infrared light reaches the tissue underneath, and your cells do more with it than almost any other passive therapy we offer. We run sessions here, most days of the week.
Light your cells actually use
Red and near-infrared wavelengths pass through skin and reach the mitochondria — the part of the cell that makes energy. There, the light lifts a brake on energy production, and the cell gets back to doing its job: repairing, clearing, rebuilding.
That is the whole mechanism, and it is why the effects are so unspecific in the best way. Better cellular energy shows up as faster recovery, less stiffness, calmer skin and deeper sleep — not because light treats each of those things, but because tired tissue causes all of them.
Photobiomodulation is one of the most studied things in our building. Hundreds of trials, decades of use in sports medicine and dermatology, and a safety record that is close to spotless. It is not a gimmick and it is not new — the beds just finally got good.
Where it fits with adjusting
Light does not move a joint and an adjustment does not raise cellular energy. Used together, each one makes the other land better: the bed loosens guarded muscle and calms inflamed tissue, which means less protective tension fighting the adjustment, and less soreness after it.
Most patients here do ten minutes in the bed before their adjustment, or twenty on its own between visits. Both work. Ask us which makes sense for what you are dealing with.
Who gets the most out of it
Athletes and anyone training hard, patients working through an auto accident injury or a stubborn soft-tissue problem, people whose back and neck pain flares with stress, and anyone who simply does not recover the way they did ten years ago.
Recovery, sped up
Less soreness after training or after an adjustment, and tissue that repairs on a shorter clock. This is the effect patients notice first.
Inflammation, turned down
Swollen, angry tissue settles. For chronic joint and tendon problems that is often the difference between moving well and guarding.
Stiffness and range
Warm, well-fed muscle lengthens. Ten minutes in the bed before an adjustment buys real range of motion.
Skin and collagen
Red light is standard practice in dermatology for a reason — collagen production, tone and healing all respond.
Sleep and energy
Regular users report falling asleep faster and waking up less. Sessions earlier in the day suit most people best.
Nothing to recover from
No needles, no drugs, no downtime. You get dressed and go back to your day. That is a rare thing in medicine.
What a session is like
You undress to whatever you are comfortable in — more skin exposed means more light absorbed — and lie in the bed with the panels above and below you. The light is deep red and bright. You will feel a gentle warmth and nothing else.
No burning, no UV, no tanning. Eye shields are there if you want them and most people use them. Ten to twenty minutes later you get up, get dressed, and carry on.
Effects stack. One session feels pleasant; a run of eight to twelve over a few weeks is where patients start describing themselves as recovering differently. We will tell you honestly when you have had enough.
