PEMF therapy in Newport Beach

Eight minutes on the BEMER B.Body Professional. A pulsed electromagnetic signal wakes up the smallest blood vessels in your body — the ones that actually deliver oxygen to tissue — so everything downstream of them heals better.

Why we use it

Circulation where it actually matters

Roughly three quarters of your circulation happens in vessels too small to see — capillaries and the tiny arterioles feeding them. That is where oxygen crosses into tissue and where waste is picked up. Those vessels are not passive tubes; they squeeze rhythmically on their own, and that rhythm is what moves blood through them.

Age, injury, inflammation, stress and sitting still all blunt that rhythm. The tissue is still perfused on paper, but the exchange slows down — and healing runs at exactly the speed of that exchange. PEMF therapy — pulsed electromagnetic field therapy — targets it directly. A low-intensity, precisely timed magnetic pulse stimulates the vessel walls back toward their normal rhythm for the length of the session and a good while after.

You feel nothing while it happens. That is the point: no heat, no current, no muscle contraction. It is one of the few therapies we offer that asks absolutely nothing of the patient.

Where it fits with adjusting

An adjustment restores motion to a joint. Motion irritates tissue that is already inflamed, and inflamed tissue holds fluid it cannot clear. Running PEMF before or after the table means the segment we just worked on gets better supply and drains faster — patients hold their adjustments longer and get less next-day soreness.

Who gets the most out of it

Patients with stubborn back and neck pain, anyone recovering from an auto accident injury, athletes stacking hard training days, post-surgical recoveries, people with cold hands and feet or persistent swelling, and patients who sleep badly and want a non-pharmacological place to start.

It also pairs well with our other recovery tools — see red light therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

01

Faster recovery

Better microcirculation means more oxygen in and more metabolic waste out. Training blocks, strains and surgical recoveries all move quicker.

02

Less pain and stiffness

Fluid that sits in tissue keeps a joint sore and tight. Improving local exchange is often what finally shifts a problem that has plateaued.

03

Swelling that clears

The lymph and venous side of the system relies on the same rhythmic vessel motion. Patients notice it first in ankles, hands and feet.

04

More stamina

Muscle performance is limited by delivery, not willpower. Regular users report better endurance and shorter recovery between efforts.

05

Deeper sleep

An evening session is one of the more common reasons patients keep coming back. No stimulant, no sedative, nothing to take.

06

Eight easy minutes

Fully clothed, lying still, no sensation, no downtime. It is the lowest-friction thing in the building.

The equipment

We use the BEMER B.Body Professional

There is a lot of PEMF equipment on the market and most of it is not comparable. We chose BEMER because the signal is the product: a patented, low-intensity waveform developed and refined over three decades specifically to stimulate vasomotion in the microvessels, and studied in published research rather than marketed on wattage. It is registered as a medical device, used in clinics, professional sport and NASA-adjacent research settings, and it is what sits in our treatment room.

The control unit. Every session is a defined program, not a dial someone guesses at. The screen shows the phase you are in, the intensity, and the time left — here mid-session, Phase 3 Activation with seven minutes to go. Our team sets the program to what you are being treated for and you watch the clock run down.

The B.Body applicator. A full-length mat that delivers the signal head to foot, so we treat the whole circulatory system rather than one joint. You lie on it fully clothed — shoes off, that is the extent of the preparation. The strap positions the field over the lumbar spine and pelvis when that is the focus.

What happens

What a session is like

You keep your clothes on, take your shoes off, and lie down on the mat. We choose the program, start the timer, and leave you alone. Eight minutes later it stops. There is nothing to feel, nothing to manage and nothing to recover from — most patients get straight up and go back to work.

Because there is no sensation, the honest framing is that PEMF is a cumulative therapy, not a dramatic one. One session does very little you would notice. Two or three a week for a month is where patients start telling us their ankles are less swollen, their back holds its adjustment, or they are sleeping through the night.

We will tell you plainly if it is not doing anything for you. Nobody here needs you on a mat you are not benefiting from.

What is PEMF therapy?

PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. A low-intensity magnetic signal pulses through the body and stimulates the rhythmic squeezing motion of the smallest blood vessels, which improves microcirculation so oxygen and nutrients reach tissue and waste is cleared.

How long is a BEMER PEMF session at DeMoss Chiropractic?

Eight minutes is the standard session on the BEMER B.Body Professional. Longer twenty-minute programs are used for specific recovery goals. You stay fully clothed and lie still on the mat.

What does PEMF therapy feel like?

Almost nothing. There is no heat, no buzzing and no muscle contraction. Some patients notice a faint warmth or a settling, heavy-limbed relaxation. Most simply lie there and are surprised when the timer ends.

How many PEMF sessions do I need?

Effects are cumulative. Twice daily use is the manufacturer's protocol and most patients here run it alongside adjustments two to three times a week for four to six weeks before deciding what maintenance looks like.

How much does PEMF therapy cost in Newport Beach?

PEMF is often included as part of a care plan at DeMoss Chiropractic and is also available as a stand-alone session. Call (949) 250-0600 and the front desk will quote you the current rate.
